Heather Heaven interviews Feature Entertainer Ania Woods in our Planet Platypus segment called the Beaver Report.
HH: You’ve made quite a name for yourself on the Canadian circuit. What do you think makes you stand out as an entertainer?
AW: I bring a different type of energy to the stage, It comes from an extensive dance back ground and my love for preforming. I have always been know for my stage presence and the way i command the attention of a room.
HH: If you could perform on any stage in the world, where would it be? Why?
AW: I honestly love preforming anywhere where My talent is appreciated but I have heard Australia is super fun to work at so I’d love to feature out there. Mostly just for the travel experience.
HH: You won this years “Miss Nude Diamonds” What was your winning show?
AW: My winning show for Miss nude Diamonds was a military theme, with fire, water and my aerial hoop.
HH: How did you come up with your stage name?
AW: I was just brainstorming with a friend and we were able to come up with ania (on yah) woods it was both unique and witty. Plus I’m Ukrainian so I liked how the name tied in with my background.
HH: What do you think every girl needs to know, before starting her career as a feature?
AW: To be a feature you have to love what you do, the passion behind it is what propels and motivates you to constantly be growing as a performer and finding new and creative ways to showcase your talent.
HH: Did you have any mentors while you were coming up in the industry?
AW: Not one in particular, I have always taken bits and pieces from dancers that have been in the industry longer and applied them to my career. Both good and bad.
HH: What’s been your most memorable night at work?
AW: The energy of the crowd during my miss nude diamonds performance, the way I preformed was with pure passion and I will never forget the feeling I felt when I finished and the audience was standing chanting my name. I immediately had tears of joy. That moment was more special to me then the title it’s self.
